What our spa in Vidyaranyapura actually looks like
Choosing a spa you have never visited involves a certain amount of trust, and stock photography does nothing to earn it. Every image on this page was taken at Golden Champa Salon and Spa on Vidyaranyapura Main Road. What you see here is what you will walk into.
A few things worth pointing out. Every treatment room is private and individually prepared before each guest, with linen and towels changed after every single session. The passage between reception and the rooms is deliberately kept quiet and low-lit, so the transition from the noise of Vidyaranyapura Main Road to your treatment is gradual rather than abrupt. And our shower and changing facilities are proper, maintained rooms — not an afterthought, which matters when every session ends with a steam.

A guide to what you are looking at
Spa photographs tend to blur into one another. Here is what each part of our space is actually for, and what we would encourage you to look at closely.
The entrance and reception
We are on Vidyaranyapura Main Road, which is a busy road. The entrance and reception exist to put some distance between that and your treatment — you are greeted, offered water, and asked about injuries, medical conditions and the areas you would like your therapist to focus on or avoid. It takes two minutes and it changes the session. Look for a reception that has somewhere to actually sit and wait, rather than a desk in a corridor.
The passage
The corridor between reception and the therapy rooms is deliberately quiet and low-lit. It is not decoration; it is the part of the visit where the noise of the main road drops away and you start to slow down before you are on the table.
The therapy rooms
Every room is private and prepared individually before each guest, with linen and towels changed after every single session without exception. When you look at the photographs, look at the linen — whether it is fresh and properly made, whether the room has space to move around the table rather than the table being wedged against a wall, and whether the lighting is soft enough to lie under for ninety minutes. Those three things tell you most of what you need to know about any spa.
Our larger rooms are the ones we use for Signature and 90-minute sessions, where the therapist needs room to work unhurriedly from several angles. Thai massage takes place on a comfortable floor mat rather than a table, which gives your therapist the leverage to support you properly through each stretch.
The shower and changing area
Every 60 and 90 minute session ends with a complimentary 15-minute steam, so the shower is not an afterthought — it is part of the treatment. It is a proper maintained room with everything you need, and you are not hurried through it. This is the facility most worth checking before you book anywhere, and the one most often left out of a spa's photographs.

Photographs can only tell you so much. The things that actually decide whether a spa is right for you — how quiet it is, whether the rooms smell clean, how you are spoken to at reception — are best judged by standing in the place.
